东京新桥附近的老旧公寓里有一家精神科诊所，诊所的负责人是年轻的心理医生楷恭介（竹野内丰 饰演）。一天诊所来了一位求职不顺的年轻女孩浅井智子（柴崎幸 饰演）。智子患有严重恐高症，面试之所以失败就是因为在高楼接受面试导致智子情绪失控。恭介一心想要帮助智子，但暗恋恭介的女医生森三七子（羽田美智子 饰演）却担心恭介的治疗方式无法达到收支平衡。

就在智子的病情尚未得到改善之时，智子却意外接到之前面试的菱朋商事的录取通知，只是反对周围意见执意招收智子的公司董事伊势（内藤刚志 饰演）却故意借着参观公司的名义把智子带往20楼。忍受不了高处的智子再次情绪失控，此时伊势却要智子不要再接受恭介的治疗，感觉事有蹊跷的恭介决定去找伊势探个究竟。
