Akane Tendo (Yui Aragaki) is a boyish girl of martial arts who is fervently determined to inherit her father’s training hall. However, her father makes a unilateral decision that his successor should be a man.  Moreover, he has already chosen Ranma Saotome (Kento Kaku, Natsuna) as Akane’s husband-to-be, unaware of Ranma’s one strange habitude … he changes into a girl when splashed with water!

The storyline of this drama is based on comics by the same title which had been serialized in “Weekly Shonen Sunday” (Shogakukan) from 1987 until 1996.  The comics have sold a total of more than 53 million copies in Japan (as of December, 2011), and have also been translated into various languages for overseas fans.
