One Japanese rice farmer is now struggling with his life.  Nobuhiko Kurosawa owns a rice farm with a proud history of more than 400 years.  At a time in the past, his rice was awarded as “the most delicious rice in Japan,” and well-received, both at home and abroad.  However, since his farm is located northwest of Fukushima, he could not avoid facing a colossal drop-off in his rice sales as people expressed concerns over the safety of rice grown in Northeastern Japan after the explosions at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

In order to prove the safety of his rice, he had his farm soil and his brown rice tested at inspection facilities.  He was relieved to learn that radioactive cesium was not detected in his brown rice, but at the same time, he realized the difficulty of restoring his customers’ trust and his pristine reputation that were lost.

This documentary features a rice farmer who views radiation as his invisible enemy while struggling to regain consumer confidence in his rice.
