Fumio Kaneko had a brilliant career as a TV cameraman of numerous popular programs in the past. After having retired from the front line, he started his relaxing new life by relocating to a nature-rich area, cultivating blueberries and mushrooms. However, everything changed drastically after the explosions at the Fukushima nuclear power plant when his newly-relocated region was designated as being located “inside the emergency evacuation zone.” Stirred by a sense of mission, he suddenly begins rolling his camera once again, but this time, to film his neighborhood. As his camera captures the current state of his local area, he develops a distrust of the Japanese government. He documents the real voices of residents continuing to live inside the evacuation zone, animals bravely trying to survive without being cared for by humans...
This documentary of the real FUKUSHIMA after 3-11 is seen through the eyes of a local resident who happens to be a professional cameraman. The documented footage is rare, not only overseas, but even in Japan.
