Set in modern day Tokyo, this is Gooko, a twenty-something female’s coming-of-age story of her struggles to understand the meaning of work, of true justice, and of rich and poor.

Miki—or the nicknamed “GOOKO” (Mao Inoue) — is “klutzy” in one word. Freshly out of college, the lackadaisical Gooko’s only dream is to seek economic stability, but she is unwillingly appointed to a highly demanding job as a special collector of government taxes: a profession which is not liked by the average citizen, including her own father. To make things worse, Gooko must constantly dodge criticism and tolerate unbelievable requests (otherwise known as “harassment”) from her heartless superior known for his ways of collecting taxes from tax delinquents by fair means or foul.
