At MIPCOM, the world's largest international contents trade show held in Cannes France, a serial drama titled "MOTHER", produced by Nippon Television Network (NTV), won a Special Mention in the MIPCOM BUYERS' AWARD for Japanese Drama on October 4, 2010.

Following last year's honor of winning the grand prix award for "AISHITERU-KAIYO-", NTV has received high acclaim for its storyline, actors and production quality.

The MIPCOM BUYERS' AWARD was set up last year through a collaborative project between MIPCOM and International Drama Festival in TOKYO to promote the high quality and solid entertainment value of Japanese contents, and to help distribute these contents globally.

Seven recommended dramas from the International Drama Festival in TOKYO were nominated and rigorously evaluated. Fifteen judges were selected from international buyers representing 12 countries (France, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Monaco, Poland, Russia, Serbia and the UAE).

"MOTHER" is an original story with a universal theme that depicts the current condition of our society and its ramifications. NTV is proud to have received high accolades and hopes to propel forward with more dramas that reach across continental borders.
