Abe raps China at NATO

Japan’s Prime Minister says China is a source of international worry.

Shinzo Abe told NATO officials China’s military posture is a matter of concern not only for Japan but for the international community.

Abe visited NATO headquarters in Brussels as part of a week-long tour of Europe.

The prime minister cited frequent incursions by Chinese vessels into waters around Japan’s Senkaku islands.

China claims the islands, calling them the Diaoyu.

Drawing a parallel with Ukraine, Abe called for settling international disputes by rule of law.

He said Japan would work together with NATO based on their shared values.
