JINS debuts bio-sensitive interactive eyewear

Google Glass has a new competitor.

A Japanese company is taking a different approach to interactive eyewear.

JINS says its invention makes it possible to operate a smartphone with a user’s eye movements.

Special sensors also pick up on blinking.

The glasses can gauge distance walked, calories burned and how far the user’s body is leaning forward.

Smartphone software can determine if a user is getting sleepy while driving or at work.

JINS says it aims to have the frames on the market in spring 2015.
