Kids dine on lobster at doomed school

Kids in Japan savored one last gourmet meal before their 110-year-old school closes for good today (Thursday).

Local fishermen provided the children a free lobster lunch at the elementary school in the town of Minami-Ise in western Japan.

They said they wanted to leave the 40 kids with an unforgettable memory of the school.

The school was built in 1903 and used to hold more than 600 students.

But the number of students shrank as people left for the city and had fewer children.

The school will hold a closing ceremony next month and be consolidated with a nearby school.
