Japan condemns N.Korean missile launch

Japan is reacting to North Korea’s firing of two missiles over the Sea of Japan early this morning (Wednesday).

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe ordered his government to analyze the tests.

Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said the firings violated UN Security Council resolutions.

South Korean defense officials say the missiles flew about 650 kilometers on an easterly course and fell over international waters in the Sea of Japan.

Experts believe the test involved Rodong medium-range ballistic missiles, whose range of 1,300 kilometers puts most of Japan within reach.

The test coincided with talks between the leaders of Japan, the U.S. and South Korea, who met in the Netherlands to coordinate policies towards the North.
