Grand Sumo Championship 2008
This is a unique and special championship, since the sumo wrestlers will compete in tournaments, and team competitions different from annual Grand Sumo tournaments which are league competitions. You can enjoy many rare matches of Sumo that regularly can’t be seen.
The Grand Sumo Championship decides the strongest true champion!
The “Makuuchi”[top division of Sumo hierarchy and numbers are within 40 wrestlers] sumo wrestlers will compete in a tournament style.
So you can watch your favorite sumo wrestler fight many games as long as he keeps winning in the tournament.
The “Juryo”[second division of Sumo hierarchy] sumo wrestlers will fight another rare match called “Tozai Dantaisen” which is a team competition.
The sumo wrestlers will be divided into team east and west, representing the east and west regions of Japan according to their home cities.
If the game heats up, you can throw the “zabuton” cushions prepared at ringside and box seats, at the ring called “Dohyo” where the match is being held.

Box seat is a squared area with 4 cushions called “zabuton” recommended for groups up to 4 people. Ringside seats also have “zabuton” cushions.
