■ My Best Friend the Chesnut Tree
At the top of Kuri-kuri Mountain, there stands an old walnut tree. This walnut tree and Kon-chan, a young fox who lives at the root of this tree, are very close friends. One summer night, however, the walnut tree is blown away in a violent storm...... This is the first installment in a trilogy about love.

■ Mr. Ganbaril's Bean Soup
Mr. Ganbaril is a pure-hearted gentleman. He is probably hard at work somewhere today as well, helping people in need or helping the animals.

■ Little Bo the Laughing Hat
The adventures of a mini-Superman named Little Bo and an elementary school boy named Kontan, portrayed with lots of dreams!

A message from Takashi Yanase: The fables in this collection contain a mixture of a huge variety of things, that even I am surprised by. My characteristics, the fact that I am a cartoonist and create children's books, and that I also like poems and fables, give this collection of fables its strong hidden flavor. It would make me very happy if you all enjoy this collection of stories.
