This is a school drama that shows the lives of young female delinquents often referred by the Japanese term, "yankees"―and their fistful bouts to see who is the toughest of the tough.
Majisuka High is an all-girls school that is full of delinquents and is constructed of dysfunctional classrooms that have no discipline whatsoever. There is constant physical fighting within the school walls sprayed with graffiti, and students take naps on the littered floors of the school. But here in this jungle, a group of girls called the "Rappapa" are the claimed leaders as they have won their position by fist. Being the strongest in fist-fights is indeed the social currency at this deteriorating school. The leader of the Rappapa pack is Salt (Haruka Shimazaki); she reins as the queen of the chaotic hierarchy. But one day, a new student, Sakura (Sakura Miyawaki) is transferred to Majisuka High with an aim to overthrow Salt and take over the school. On first glance, she looks like a student who would make the honor roll, vulnerable, and easily beatable. Yet, when the second year groupie, Team Hinabe, pick a fight with her, they find out that she is someone who should not be trifled with... at all!
The drama which casts an array of AKB 48 members old and new has finally entered its 4th season. AKB 48, the idol group that sprouted in the so-called "Electric Town" of Akihabara, Tokyo, has become a popular social phenomenon for their singing, dancing, and the girl-next-door looks. They have become one of the highest-earning performers in Japan and have made a global franchise spread with sister idol groups originating in Jakarta and Shanghai. But in the drama series of Majisuka High School, these girls will violently beat each other up with no mercy. This outrageous gap is definitely a must see for fans and fans-to-be and is the highlight of this radical drama which gives a fresh new look for the AKB 48 members.
