CANNES. FRANCE - OCTOBER 16, 2018 -Nippon TV proudly announces that our award-winning drama series "anone" has been awarded the "MIPCOM BUYERS' AWARD for Japanese Drama" on October 16th, 2018 at MIPCOM held in Cannes, France.

MIPCOM BUYERS' AWARD for Japanese Drama" is awarded to excellent Japanese dramas selected by MIPCOM, the world's largest content trade show and its objective is to promote Japanese dramas to international buyers.

The series comes from the creators of the globally known series "Mother" and "Woman -My Life for My Children-" which are known throughout the world thanks to the mega hit Turkish versions which was adapted from Nippon TV's scripted formats. "anone" is also available as a scripted format.

Comment from Producer Hisashi Tsugiya: "I am overwhelmed with joy for receiving this award. I was so pleased that two of my previous drama series, "Mother" and "Woman -My Life for My Children-", became international scripted formats and highly-successful hits around the globe. My stories have grown so much; it is thanks to the international drama family in this 'golden age of television' who understand the message in these series and I would like to send my deepest gratitude to all who helped make them accepted worldwide. I am confident that drama aficionados will also enjoy 'anone', a drama that I created in this time when relationships between people are ever so important and precious."

Comment from Scriptwriter Yuji Sakamoto: "Winning this award is the best present for me. Thank you for this great honor. This story tells the unique relationship between isolated people who can only find true human connections through their life of crime. I hope audiences will lend an ear to the small voice of the 19-year-old girl living in the corner of society who finds strength in unexpected ways."

Nippon TV is honored to have won this award and look forward to further international adaptions of this scripted format that will surely be enjoyed by drama series audiences around the world.

About "anone" :
A precious, touching drama...

A girl who lost her family and became separated from society can no longer figure out a way to live. The story begins when she meets an old woman. Deception and betrayal have hardened them to the point of no longer being able to believe in people.

The two eventually realize that they feel the same way about many things, and the old woman shelters the girl. Theirs is a fake family and fake life, with fake memories. Suddenly, an incident occurs.

Delving into the meaning of life, this drama will grip your heart as it leaves you wondering, "What makes living truly worthwhile?" It's a story of search, one that has "fake" beginnings that evolve into true human love.
