"Mr. Hiiragi's Homeroom" adapted in Turkey, airing to record breaking ratings.

The season premiere scored the highest ratings in the last 10 years.

TOKYO, JAPAN - March 4 2020 - Having recently sold the scripted format rights of its award-winning series Mr. Hiiragi's Homeroom to Medyapim / MF Yapim, the leading production group in Turkey, Nippon Television Network Corporation (Nippon TV), Japan's leading multiplatform entertainment powerhouse, announced today that the Turkish version entitled Ögretmen (The Teacher) is airing to record ratings in prime time on Fox TV in Turkey and had the best opening of a drama series in the last 10 years. The announcement was made today by Mr. Atsushi Sogo, President of International Business Development for Nippon TV.

"Having won the Grand Prix for Series Drama at last year's Tokyo Drama Awards, as well as the award for Best Performance by an Actor, we knew we had a hit on our hands that could resonate globally, with Mr. Hiiragi's Homeroom", commented Mr. Sogo. "The series also garnered record high AVOD views, and still continues to intrigue viewers on Hulu Japan, our subsidiary SVOD platform. Now, to see its success in Turkey thanks to the captivating production by Medyapim / MF Yapim, is quite exciting and rewarding for us. The story depicts the lifestyle of current teenagers, obsessed with social media, that leads to the ignorance of reality. The homeroom teacher, Mr. Hiiragi, sacrifices his life in order to awaken and reset the minds of his students. This is a theme that is worrisome in most countries around the world today. The deal to Turkey marked the first scripted format sale for Mr. Hiiragi's Homeroom and we look forward to many more international adaptations."

Quote from Mr. Fatih Aksoy, CEO, MEDYAPIM
"This is our 3rd cooperation with Nippon TV after Anne(Mother) and Kadın (Woman). We are very pleased that this cooperation is continuing with an increasing success with each TV series. I believe "Öğretmen" (The Teacher), which has made a record opening of the last decade in Turkey,  will see a worldwide interest as well."

With no suicide note or last words, the school's star student suddenly left this world... and the teacher will not give in until the truth, hidden by the students, is unveiled.
