Nippon TV 65th Anniversary Commemoration Event
"Louvre Museum Exhibition" Begins in Spring 2018!

Nippon Television Network Corporation (Nippon TV) and the Louvre Museum in France have agreed to hold large-scale exhibitions of portrait pieces in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. Nippon TV President and Chief Executive Operating Officer Yoshio Okubo and Louvre Museum President-Director Jean-Luc Martinez signed the agreement on July 10, 2017 at the museum.

Nippon TV and the Louvre Museum have previously agreed to hold large-scale exhibitions in Japan every four years beginning in 2018 until 2034. Part one of the grand project is the upcoming "Louvre Museum Exhibition"--a Nippon TV 65th Anniversary Commemoration Event. The theme is "portraits" and will feature over 110 pieces from ancient times to the 19th century, all carefully selected from the eight departments that comprise the Louvre Museum's vast collection. An exhibition that represents all of the departments of the museum is extremely rare.

Nippon TV and the Louvre Museum have established a solid partnership that has lasted many years. Nippon TV has been a proud sponsor of the renovation of the Mona Lisa Viewing Room, completed in 2005, the restoration of the Hellenistic Art collection gallery that includes the Venus de Milo, completed in 2010, and the conservation treatment of the Winged Victory of Samothrace, completed in 2015. Nippon TV is committed to further advancing this unwavering partnership and will aspire to serve as a bridge between Europe and Japan in promoting culture and the arts.
