To everyone rising against adversity.

The story takes place in the sports department of Dainichi TV, the network responsible for the live broadcast of the "Hakone Ekiden," Japan’s legendary two-day university relay marathon.

Behind the scenes of a nationwide broadcast where failure is simply not an option, Chief Producer Tokushige faces a series of unexpected crises that force him into impossible decisions. At the same time, Director Miyamoto, determined to prove herself in her first major assignment, repeatedly clashes with her team. As unity falls apart, can they overcome the chaos and capture the runners' finest moments for millions of viewers?

Meanwhile, the Ekiden community is shaken by the sudden appointment of Kai as the new head coach of Meisei Gakuin University, a traditional powerhouse. A former ordinary office worker with no coaching experience, his unconventional training methods spark anxiety and resistance among the runners.

Is it time to reform, or stay true to conviction?

The TV crew members pour their hearts into the relay broadcast to share the athletes' present moments, while a rookie coach and runners on the brink fight to rise from rock bottom. Can they pass the “tasuki,” the baton of hope, to the future? The passionate battle of those who stake everything on the Hakone Ekiden begins now.
