Nippon TV topped the charts in the All Day, Golden Time, and Prime Time categories to capture the Annual Individual Viewer Ratings Triple Crown title for the eleventh consecutive year in 2021. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the many viewers who supported our programs.

Looking back, 2021 saw our hopes for a quick end to COVID-19 betrayed, putting us under the mercy of the virus for just about the entire year. As a news organization, we dug deep to provide information on the COVID-19 infection situation and the government's response, working tirelessly to gather and deliver the news. During the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games that were held without spectators, we showed the athletes in action for a total of approximately 109 hours of broadcast. Successfully delivering the event across Japan made us realize once again what our role as a television broadcaster means.

In October, we began offering simultaneous streaming of our linear broadcast on catch-up viewing service TVer, making programs produced by Nippon TV reach countless viewers through various channels of communication. Going forward, we will accelerate our initiatives in the digital field.

The Nippon TV Group management policy for fiscal year 2021 stipulated that those businesses with the potential to overcome the adverse effects of COVID-19 would be advocated. We are seeing steady recovery, even in revenues, and with our new growth strategy we are focused on making remarkable advancements.

In November, we announced our Sustainability Policy, which set forth specific goals such as switching to renewable energy as part of our efforts to act boldly and aggressively towards a sustainable future.

The Nippon TV Group will strive to win even more support from viewers and corporations as we raise our ambitions and take on challenges. I humbly ask for your support and encouragement in 2022.
