Dolphins are known to be social animals, but seldom do you see a group this large.

Today, a Japanese coast guard helicopter captured a pod of about 500 dolphins swimming in the Japan Sea.

Officers say the dolphins were heading north.

They say this isn’t the first time groups of the cetaceans have been spotted in the area.
