Japan Mint opens cherry blossom ‘tunnel’

The Japan Mint is opening part of its premises to the public during cherry blossom-viewing season.

The head office in Osaka boasts a unique 560-meter-long “tunnel” of cherry trees.

Visitors can ogle 350 trees representing 131 varieties of the treasured blossoms ranging from pure white to intense pink.

The special area will be open for only one week.

Weather on the opening day was sunny and beautiful.
