Japan and US -Tourism exchange through baseball

The US and Japanese governments are working together to expand tourism exchanges between their countries.

In a move to recover travel demand, 2024 is designated as Japan-US tourism exchange year.

MLB Red Socks player Yoshida Masataka appeared in a tourism PR video as a part of the effort.

He encouraged more Japanese to visit the United States, and for Americans to come to the Hokuriku region, which is recovering from the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.

Spectators at the Major League Baseball game between the Dodgers and the Nationals on April 23 will also be seeing promotions for tourism in Japan.

The agency hopes to attract visitors to various baseball stadiums across the country through regional food and other activities.
