Capybara babies drawing crowds

People in central Japan are oohing and aahing over a litter of newborn capybaras.

Three of the furry critters were born last month at a nature park south of Tokyo.

Capybaras are the world’s largest rodents and can grow to over a meter long.

But these ones are still less than 25 centimeters.

Native to South America, capybaras are known for their prominent teeth.

The park’s staff say the babies are healthy, and will stay close to their families until they mature.
