A 1,000-year-old wisteria tree is in full bloom in central Japan.

The tree at a shrine in Hyogo prefecture is said to have been planted in Japan’s Heian period, nearly a thousand years ago.

Visitors enjoy the sweet smell of wisteria flowers.

The tree will be lit up for nighttime viewing from Tuesday through Thursday.
