Abductee relative urges UN to take action

The brother of a Japanese woman abducted by North Korea has urged the UN Security Council to take action.

Teruaki Masumoto represents a group of relatives of Japanese abductees. He attended on Thursday a closed-door meeting of the Security Council on human rights violations in North Korea.

Masumoto stressed the seriousness of the abductions, calling them acts of terrorism. He asked the Security Council to pressure N. Korea to quickly resolve the issue.
