Egg-dropping their way to engineering success

Students in egg-loving Japan are using an egg drop contest to test their engineering skills.

22 teams compete to drop an egg from a building and stop it from breaking with just one sheet of paper and tape.

Let’s see how they do.

The cube didn’t offer enough protection.

Neither do these strange contraptions.

Some students’ designs try to slow the eggs’ descent.

That proves the winning approach for this team.

It all ends sunny-side up with an egg feast for the entire class.
