Japan’s next astronaut training in Russia

Japan’s NTV traveled outside Moscow to film the country’s next astronaut undergoing training.

Takuya Onishi will head to the International Space Station in 2016.

Onishi and his two fellow crewmembers practiced a water landing in a real Soyuz capsule.

They rehearsed exiting the spacecraft and removing their spacesuits under watery conditions.

Onishi said the tough training would help the crew bond.

Onishi was once a commercial pilot for Japan’s All Nippon Airways.
