Kumamon, the million-dollar bear

People in Japan have fallen in love with a cuddly bear named Kumamon.

Kumamon is the mascot of Kumamoto prefecture in western Japan, and he’s now Japan's most famous bear.

A jewelry store in downtown Tokyo on Thursday revealed a Kumamon statue made of pure gold.

It weighs 10 kilos and is worth about a million dollars.

The statue was created for Kumamon's birthday.

People who want their own golden Kumamon can reportedly have one made to order.
