Atomic bomb survivors in Hiroshima and Nagasaki react to Trump remarks

S/ Sakuma Kunihiko, Survivor of atomic bombing in Hiroshima at 9 months old / Peace through the use of force is impossible.

S/ Tomonaga Masao, Survivor of atomic bombing in Nagasaki at 2 years old / I think it's scary that someone who thinks like that is the top leader.

On June 26, people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, where atomic bombs were dropped during World War II, spoke out against remarks made by US President Donald Trump.

S/ Donald Trump, US President / That hit ended the war. I don't want to use an example of Hiroshima. I don't want to use an example of Nagasaki. But that was essentially the same thing.

Trump was comparing the recent US military attack on Iran to the 1945 atomic bombings in Japan.

S/ Sakuma Kunihiko, Survivor of atomic bombing in Hiroshima at 9 months old / I suppose he wants to boast that he (ended the war), but they say there are many uranium enrichment facilities. One wrong step and that could cause big trouble. What President Trump is saying is wrong, and the attack itself is wrong.
