Knife attack at Japanese restaurant in Shanghai injures three
A man armed with a knife burst into a Japanese restaurant in Shanghai on April 19, injuring three people including two Japanese nationals.
The incident took place at a Japanese restaurant located on the third floor of a building in Shanghai’s financial district.
According to local police, a 59-year-old man forced his way into the restaurant and attacked people with a fruit knife.
Three people were injured in the attack.

According to the Consulate-General of Japan in Shanghai, two of the injured are Japanese nationals who are currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Police say the suspect has already been taken into custody.
Authorities also say the man’s behavior appeared suspicious.
In response to the incident, the Japanese government has called on the Chinese government to clarify the facts surrounding the case and ensure the safety of Japanese nationals living in China.
