Workers injured, rescued from 50-meter transmission tower in Nagoya

The fire department received a call on April 1 reporting that a worker had become unable to move while working on a transmission tower in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture.

The entire rescue operation was captured on camera.

Reporter / Rescue operations are being held high up in the tower.

According to the fire department and other sources, two male workers in their 20s were replacing power lines at a height of about 50 meters when one fell approximately two meters and was unable to move.

About an hour after the initial call, firefighters secured the injured worker and safely brought him down to the ground.

The second worker was also rescued. Both men sustained leg injuries but were conscious when taken to the hospital.
