An 18-year-old male was arrested for vandalizing the shutter of a beauty salon with spray paint in Shibuya Ward in Tokyo.

According to investigators, the suspect vandalized the shutter in May of this year, causing about 230,000 yen, or $1,550 US Dollars-worth of damage to the shop's shutters.

The vandalism resembles a signature, and during questioning, the suspect admitted to the charges.

He said to investigators that he liked drawing when he was in the art club in junior high school, and that what he did isn’t vandalism; it’s graffiti.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department is continuing to investigate the case, as several other individuals were also captured on security cameras at the scene.
