Princess Kako returns to Japan after whirlwind tour of Brazil

Princess Kako returned to Japan on June 17 after a whirlwind tour in Brazil.

She did not show fatigue upon arrival despite the 28-hour-long journey.

Princess Kako visited 8 cities in 11 days during her official visit coinciding with the 130th anniversary of Japan-Brazil diplomatic ties.

She interacted with Nikkei Japanese Brazilians, attended a ceremony to celebrate the occasion, and paid a courtesy call on Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva.

The princess visited the Imperial Palace on June 18 to report on her return from Brazil.

She was seen waving hands to well-wishers from the car.

Imperial family members traditionally visit the Sanctuary after they come back from foreign countries.
