Japan Lower House election campaigning kicks off
Japanese Prime Minister and Liberal Democratic Party leader Takaichi Sanae / We have pledged to make Japan strong and prosperous. First, we seek the trust of the people. If the LDP and Japan Innovation Party fail to secure a majority, I will resign as Prime Minister.
Noda Yoshihiko, Centrist Reform Alliance co-leader / We prioritize livelihoods above all else, placing them at the very center of our approach. We advocate policies based on the principle of putting citizens first. The question is whether you all would support us centrists.
Yoshimura Hirofumi, Japan Innovation Party leader / The Japan Innovation Party will absolutely stand by Ms. Takaichi without wavering. We will become the accelerator within the coalition, driving forward reforms that had stalled under the LDP, and propel Japanese politics forward. The LDP and Japan Innovation Party will unite to move Japan forward.
Tamaki Yuichiro, Democratic Party For the People leader / We must shift from the old politics prioritizing political maneuvering and elections, to a new politics centered on policy, prioritizing people's lives and the economy.
Tamura Tomoko, Japanese Communist Party chairperson / We shall deliver a harsh judgment on the LDP-Japan Innovation cabinet and Prime Minister Takaichi, who disregard democracy. We will work steadfastly for the people regarding livelihoods, peace, and human rights, and change the LDP politics.
Oishi Akiko, Reiwa Shinsengumi co-chairperson / Protecting Japan starts with protecting you. We have no choice but to bring down Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae, who hasn't properly addressed high prices and is rushing to dissolve the Diet.
