Shoes similar to missing boy's found in mountains of Nantan, Kyoto

Kyoto police have found a new clue in the case of the missing 11-year-old boy.

According to police, Adachi Yuki apparently went missing after his father dropped him off by car near his elementary school at around 8 a.m. on March 23.

On April 12, the police continued their search for the sixth-grade student with a team of about 50 people in places including a mountainous area nearly 6 kilometers away from the elementary school.

Investigative sources said shoes similar to the black Nike sneakers that Yuki was wearing were found in the mountains between his home and the school.

Police are checking to see whether the shoes belong to the boy.

Another item found in the search so far is Yuki's yellow school backpack discovered in the mountains about 3 kilometers west of the elementary school on March 29, six days after he went missing.

The shoes were found about 6 kilometers southwest of the school and approximately 5.5 kilometers south of where the backpack was located.

Police are continuing their search for Yuki.
