Beverage giant Asahi postpones earning report amid cyberattack woes
Japanese beverage producer Asahi Group Holdings announced on October 14 that it will delay the release of its third-quarter earnings as a result of a cyberattack.
The company, which experienced a major system failure from a ransomware attack, is still processing orders partially by hand more than two weeks after the incident occurred.
Amidst this situation, Asahi said that its third-quarter earnings announcement will be postponed from the originally scheduled November 12.
The postponement is due to disrupted access to accounting-related data, resulting in delays in financial closing procedures.
The company has not said how long the postponement will last.
Asahi has also announced that it discovered the possibility that personal information may have been subject to unauthorized data transfer as part of the attack.
The company has said it is continuing to investigate the extent and details of the impact of the attack.
