Chinese government boasts humanoid robots, huge drones at biz fair
Humanoid robots and unmanned convenience stores featuring robotic arms were unveiled in an international business fair in Beijing that kicked off on September 10.
A giant drone that can carry loads of up to one ton was also showcased at the China International Fair for Trade in Services, hosted by the Chinese government.
Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a message for the opening ceremony of the event that his country will expand high-level opening up amidst the dramatic changes in the global economy.
Participating businesses also expressed enthusiasm for expanding sales channels overseas.
Drone company representative / Exports to countries in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa through the Belt and Road Initiative are strong.
Trade statistics released last month by China's customs showed exports to the United States fell by 33.1 percent, while exports to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations rose by 22.5 percent.
The Chinese government eyes to further expand exports to countries outside the United States as it anticipates prolonged US tariffs.
