An event was held on August 7 for the 2025 Deaflympics, an international sports competition for deaf athletes, in host city Tokyo.

The 25th Summer Deaflympics is now less than 100 days away from the opening ceremony in November.

This year’s Deaflympics medal designs were revealed for the very first time at the event.

The winning medal design was of an origami crane voted on by children in Japan.

At the event, athletes and audience members also practiced a way to cheer on athletes through sign language together.
