Pokémon foot bath damaged just one month after opening
On May 12, a Pokémon-themed foot bath featuring the franchise's popular characters opened at Wakura Onsen in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, as a flagship project for recovery from the Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
On its opening day, local kindergarten children enjoyed the foot bath alongside Pokémon characters such as Pikachu.
However, when we visited the site today...
Visitors were still taking photos with the Pokémon characters while soaking their feet. But a closer look revealed something unusual.
The seven Pokémon figures that were on display at last month's opening had been reduced to just five.
According to the facility, damage was found on three of the seven Pokémon figures.
Nanao City plans to file a police report. The damaged Pokémon figures will be repaired and reinstalled as soon as possible.
