Nagano bushfire burns at least 100 hectares of land
Extinguishing efforts continued on March 2 as a bushfire that emerged in Nagano Prefecture entered day three.
210 firefighters, including those on 50 fire trucks and 6 Japan Ground Self-Defense Force helicopters, were dispatched.
100 hectares of land were burned in two days according to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency.
The fire is believed to have spread on February 28 when a local man was burning dried grass.
A 79-year-old man died from a separate fire that was caused by burning branches in Nagano Prefecture on March 1.
Bushfires have been emerging in various places across Japan since last week.
