Wild boar seen in various areas of Akita in northern Japan

S/ NNN Reporter / There it is. Can you see it? A wild boar has appeared in the Nakadori area of Akita city. It just lay down on the ground and stopped moving.

Our camera captured a wild boar, about 1 meter in length, in the city of Akita at around 12:30 p.m. on October 1.

About half an hour earlier, a boar was seen on the premises of a hospital and in a residential area of the city in northern Japan.

Numerous wild boar sightings were reported in central Akita on this day.

Shortly past 1 p.m., a wild boar was seen near the JR railway tracks and heading northward.

On October 2, a wild boar appeared again at around 6 a.m.

About two hours later, the animal was seen in the garden of a private home.

Police officers and others captured the boar shortly after 8 a.m.

Akita city officials said the wild boar is highly likely to be the one that was repeatedly sighted.
