Pepper spray accident leaves students feeling unwell at Japan school
More than a dozen students reported feeling unwell after pepper spray was accidentally discharged at a junior high school in Saitama City on the afternoon of June 10.
According to police and fire officials, a report was received shortly after 2 p.m. from Sashiogi Junior High School in Nishi Ward, Saitama City, saying that pepper spray had been accidentally discharged.
Emergency responders, including 12 fire department vehicles, were dispatched to the school.
Authorities said more than a dozen students complained of symptoms such as feeling sick and other physical discomfort.
Police are investigating how the incident occurred.
