New Year preparations underway with traditional Kadomatsu decorations

With the New Year approaching, a landscaping company in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, is busy crafting Kadomatsu—traditional lucky decorations made of pine and bamboo.

Skilled craftsmen are trimming pine branches and expertly winding decorative ropes. Some of the larger Kadomatsu reach heights of approximately 1.5 meters.

Yoneyama Takumi, CEO of Yoneyama Teien/ Given the current instability in world affairs, we are putting even more heart into our work than usual. We are crafting these with a strong prayer for peace—not just for Japan, but for the entire world.

The Kadomatsu produced here are scheduled to be displayed at restaurants and temples across the country.
