Emperor Naruhito attends art ceremony, Princess Aiko speaks with award winners

Emperor Naruhito attended the Japan Art Academy's award ceremony in Tokyo on June 24.

10 people received prizes for their contributions to art, including sculptor Katsuno Makoto and novelist Kawakami Hiromi.

The award-winners were invited to the Imperial Palace for a tea party in the afternoon.

Princess Aiko joined the tea party with the award-winners for the first time, and sat at the same table as her cousin Princess Kako

Princess Aiko spoke with anime director Tomino Yoshiyuki, known for the super robot anime Mobile Suit Gundam, about the influence of the series and also Miyazaki Hayao of Studio Ghibli.
