On the evening of July 10, a Linear Precipitation Band of heavy rain developed over Tokyo and its five surrounding prefectures in the Kanto region, bringing record-breaking downpours in a short period, including central Tokyo. 

The Japan Meteorological Agency is warning that the risk of flooding or other disasters could rise rapidly and is urging people to stay alert.
