Venture firm Space One launched the small rocket Kairos No. 3 from a spaceport in Kushimoto, Wakayama Prefecture at 11:10 a.m. on March 5.

But several minutes later, the company initiated a flight abort procedure during first-stage separation after determining that completing the mission would be difficult.

The decision was also announced at a viewing area located about 1.5 kilometers from the launch site.

The first two units of Kairos also ended in failure.

The launch of the third Kairos was initially scheduled for February 25 but was postponed three times before the liftoff on March 5.
