Panda fans flock to see pandas outdoors before isolation and return to China
S/ Reporter/ Today is the last outdoor viewing of the pandas. A crowd of people has formed like a thick wall.
Giant panda fans flocked to Adventure World in Wakayama Prefecture, western Japan, for the four pandas’ final outdoor viewing day on May 25.
On May 26, the pandas began a one-month quarantine ahead of their return to China on June 28.
During the quarantine period, the pandas are on a limited entry viewing behind glass.
S/ Visitor/ I came to say goodbye because it’s the final viewing.
S/ I’m just so, so sad.
S/ I’m gonna come as much as I can on Sundays and buy lots of merch.
Adventure World, known for fostering the most pandas in Japan, is planning a farewell event before the final goodbye.
After the four pandas return, only two will remain in Japan at Tokyo’s Ueno Zoo.
