Nepal Pavilion remains unfinished at Osaka Expo

April 23 marked Day 11 of the Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai.

Nakano Sodai, YTV Reporter / There are many visitors here at the Osaka Expo, but we cannot see workers here at the Nepal Pavilion nor progress in construction.

The construction has been suspended since January 2025.

About 90 percent of the exterior of the building has already been completed, but a portion of the construction costs have not been paid to the construction company. There has been no prospect of the work resuming.

We were able to interview a source related to the Nepal Pavilion.

Source related to Nepal Pavilion / The Nepalese side said they were going to pay, but they never did.

Reporter / Was the construction schedule on time for the opening?

Source related to Nepal Pavilion /  Yes, we were on time.

World Expo organizers have said that the Nepalese side is willing to open its exhibition, and that the organizers would like to support that.
