JR Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku lines to be partially closed this weekend

East Japan Railway’s busy Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku lines are planned to partially close to facilitate the construction of the Haneda Airport Access Line on April 19 and 20. Yamanote line is a circle line which connects most major stations of Tokyo.
JR East will conduct railroad construction surrounding Tamachi Station for the project aiming to improve connectivity between central Tokyo and Haneda Airport.
On Saturday, the 19th, and the morning of Sunday, the 20th, the Yamanote Line outer route will close between Ueno Station and Osaki Station. The Keihin-Tohoku Line will close between Higashi-Jujo Station and Shinagawa Station.
On Sunday morning, the Osaki Station to Ueno Station inner route will also be closed on the Yamanote Line.
Fewer trains than scheduled may run in other areas of the train lines as well.
Around 540,000 passengers are expected to be affected by the closure of parts of the most ridden train lines in Tokyo.
JR East will provide alternative transportation to connect to other rail companies.
