China bans private jets around Beijing after deadly plane crash

It has been revealed that China has suspended private jet takeoffs and landings in the Beijing area following an aircraft crash into Beijing’s tallest building on June 26.

The restrictions are already affecting travel plans, including those of Japanese business executives.

A small plane crashed into the building in Beijing last month, killing one person and injuring 13 others.

Following the accident, Chinese authorities have tightened security around the capital.

According to multiple sources, private jet takeoffs and landings have been banned at airports in both Beijing and neighboring Tianjin.

As a result, a Toyota executive who planned to travel to Beijing on a company aircraft last weekend was reportedly denied permission to fly.

The impact extends beyond private jets. Activities such as paragliding and skydiving have also been banned within a 300-kilometer radius of Tiananmen Square.
