Tickets will be sold at the door for the World Expo 2025 that will kick off in Osaka in April.

Visitors earlier had to purchase the tickets beforehand online, but now they can buy them in front of the entry gate.

The new option came as the number of advance tickets sold for the Expo stands at about 7.88 million, which is only 50 percent of the target.

Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru said on February 25 that he will simplify the purchase process and allow people to buy tickets without having to register their ID.

The hours of the “Season Pass,” which allows multiple entries while the Expo is held, will also be expanded for use after 9AM.
